The story so far
The first Cherrytree Club opened in Auckland in 1996. It was started by Danny Phillips who discovered the 'club' model of shopping on a business trip to the States, and was instantly hooked!
Who wouldn't be? The new way of shopping turned the retail model on it’s head, giving members total price transparency and superior service.
Danny spent time building a good base of suppliers and then the members started rolling in.
The Christchurch Club opened in 2003, and Wellington followed in 2004. During this time, the supplier and membership bases grew dramatically.
In 2008, Danny retired. Husband and wife team Simon Thomson and Tracey Lewis, who had opened the Wellington Cherrytree Club franchise, purchased the national business – yes they love it that much!
The latest franchise to open it's doors was Cherrytree Waikato, in Hamilton.
Plans for future business development include opening more Cherrytree Clubs in New Zealand and continuing to build the Cherrytree community.
